I work as a researcher at MT-FoU and as an adjunct professor of Biomedical Engineering at the Department of Radiation Sciences. I was head of MT-FoU during 2010-2020 and 1982-1983. I worked as a business developer part-time at Uminova Innovation AB from 1987-2005 and as an adjunct professor of physiological measurement technology at Umeå University in 1999 - 2002. In 2002 I became promoted professor of electronics with a specialization in Biomedical Engineering at the department of Applied Physics and Electronics, Umeå University. During the years 2005-2011, I was employed as a chaired professor in medical technology for health care at, Luleå University of Technology. Between 2000 and 2016, I was the director of CMTF, a research and development center in biomedical engineering and physics operating in Väster- and Norrbotten (www.cmtf.umu.se).

Education
I got my Master of Science degree from Linköping in Biomedical Engineering in 1979. I got my doctor of technology (PhD) in Biomedicla Enginnmedical technology in 1993 and became an associate professor in 1996 at Linköping University and then the same year at Umeå University.

Research
My research focus is medical sensors where I work primarily with resonance sensors in combination with Raman spectroscopy for the detection of prostate cancer. Over the years I have published more than fifty scientific publications, seven patents and started several medical technology companies. For many years I have been involved in both national and international scientific associations in medical technology as well as in scientific advice to companies and organizations. I have participated in over a hundred different development projects and thus have extensive experience of such activities.
